Tonight’s the Night

Thought I’d take the time to remind you:

…As if anyone actually needs to be reminded!

I mean, it’s not like Spring is just around the corner or anything!

(can you feel it?!)

Anyway, enjoy your [shortened] weekend!

Thanks for stopping by – come back anytime!

Merry Christmas, 2014

As the Christmas holiday draws near, I simply want to extend to all of you:

Hope Santa gets you all exactly what you wish for!

and

May you have the best holiday season yet!

Thanks for stopping by – have a great day!

Puddle jumping

We are having a wonderful taste of Spring today!

I decided to puddle-jump instead of be grouchy with all the standing water from melting snow – after all, clothes and body can be washed and dried – why not have some fun and adventure? (yeah, even if I look a little stupid doing it!)

My cardinal friend just kind of sat there and watched me…

probably wondering why I just didn’t take off!

Happy as a duck in water

Literally –

Don’t they look happy?!

I think we’re all a bit happy to see water that’s not iced up or snowed over…

even this girl is finding it a little less easy to fully embrace the current season.

The good news (still not complaining) is that Spring begins in less than 3 weeks (technically!)

The snow sure is pretty though.

And the air is crisp and fresh.

Oh, and let’s not forget the ducks – they’re happy!

Have a great week!

Gifts and Talents

“The person born with a talent they are meant to use,  will find their greatest happiness in using it. ”
(Johann Wolfgang von Goethe)

You have something important to share with the world – don’t keep your talents locked up inside of you because of doubt or fear.

To paraphrase Henry VanDyke :

The world is pretty silent if only the best sounding birds sing.

Springing

Hey!

Lookie what I saw today!!

Yep! That’s a big ol’ robin!

Don’t get your hopes up, though – Spring is still about a month away.

(sidebar: isn’t the sky color just amazing?!)

Plus, my Gram always said that in this area the true bird-sign of spring is the sighting of Red-winged Black Birds – and she was very wise so I believe it.

So when I see one, you’ll be the first to know!
