Dream ~ Love ~ Live

Photowalk 21

Hey! It’s another installment of photowalks! …or perhaps today is more of a photohike!

Why do I say that?

Because I’m taking you to one of my very favorite states, which happens to have a bit of a mountain range (just a little bit!) and would require a bit more of the hiking-variety walks!

Oh how I do love Colorado.

My disclaimer is that these aren’t “new” photographs, but today I’m waxing nostalgic for my time and trips there.

Plus, it’s mid-September and almost Autumn which we all know is one of my 4 favorite seasons! (haha! get it? it’s funny because there are 4 seasons and this is one of them… if I have to explain, it’s not as funny…)

And these photographs are pretty and appropriate.

Aspens, beautiful color and contrast to the mountains behind it... and look at that sky!

Can’t argue with nature’s beauty, can ya?

I’m so ready for my next trip there… you know, the permanent one!

PS: Thanks to my hostess for this trip, Sara, who also happens to be one of my biggest supporters and a great sister-friend! Miss you, Lady!

Scenic path

I’ve read in many places that “doing what you love improves your whole life ~ your mood, your health, your relationships… everything.” (Sounds good!)

Finding and following my path then, it would seem, will help me travel toward those things I love. (I’d say!)

That’s why I’ve chosen a life to follow my passion for art and photography.

Another advantage is, that by choosing to live the life I want, it can also open doors and bring new and exciting opportunities my way. (I’m totally all for that!)

The path that I am meant for is the one that takes me through all the life events, challenges & lessons I am destined for (you know about my “life is a roller coaster” theory, right?!) regardless of fears that come up when I jump outside my comfort zone… with both feet.

(quick note ~ the above photo is from Colorado. That’s where I see my path, regardless of where it leads!)

It’s the scenic route of that roller coaster path that offers you all the good stuff, and hopefully avoids most of the bad stuff (unless, of course, you’re supposed to learn a lesson… but then that would make it good stuff… but I digress. haha!)

I suppose we all need a little help figuring out what the best path for each of us is ~ and more importantly, the courage (and encouragement!) to follow it when it appears.

So as I take these new steps to following my path and passion, I ask for encouragement & positive well-wishes from you ~ and I return them to each of you as you find/follow your path.

Which path?

Pursuing my passion…

Discovering my path…

now which one would that be???

the mountains?

the beach?

the beach?

someplace in between?

someplace in between?

I guess this is where I am to remember that life is a journey and to enjoy it wherever it takes me!

psst… a hint or two of direction would be nice! (perhaps using bright lights? or neon? and maybe some arrows? fireworks? heck, I’d even be grateful for some subtle subtext.)

Remember a few days ago when I was all melancholy about change, even though everything changes? Well, I’ve been spending some time participating in a gratitude training program recently and it’s opened my eyes (and life) up again.

The thing is, we humans have a tendency to spend a lot of time in “thinking” and we let things get in the way of our dreams and goals. And they’re really good things like: family, financial obligations, etc., too! And we forget the person we were when we dreamed. And then… regrets.

Well, guess what? I have no interest in looking back on my life and seeing regrets and unfulfilled dreams.

To that end, I’ve found that the way to get back to my path is to simply be grateful and move forward from there.

Somewhere along the line we forget ourselves, and that if we honored, cared for, and supported ourselves and our own dreams the way we do for others, life may actually be more fulfilling… and perhaps, easier!
