Between the Drops

No Rose Garden today. (awww…)

It’s been raining here lately. Finally.

or Again.

or however you want to look at it.

Let’s just say we were going through a dry spell and a little bit of rain is not only necessary, it’s refreshing! (and smells wonderful!)

So, of course, I grabbed the camera and out I went.

Perfect drop, just waiting for gravity to take over:

A look from under the small branch:

Nestled in the leaf:

Speaking of gravity…

The good thing is that even without the regular rainfall, our greens didn’t fade.

Makes for pretty cool photos, if I do say so myself!

Until next time…

Thanks for stopping by – have a great day!

It’s an inside kind of day

And the weather here changes again.

Today we’re getting lots of rain and thunderstorms.

Admittedly, I’m a big fan of thunderstorms – strange, perhaps, but true!

But they do put a damper (ahem, ‘damper’… get it?! haha!!) on any outdoor activities.

So this is how we’re passing the time today:

Ok, really it’s mostly this:

Best way to spend a rainy day!

It’s raining…

It’s been awhile since we had rain and I’m distracted by it… the sound is so soothing.

It makes me want to curl up on my bed and just listen to it…

Unfortunately the bed is currently curled up upon by the furball.

Who also is snoring.

I guess I’ll go enjoy it somewhere else!

It’s raining. It’s pouring. The ol’ cat is snoring… (that’s how that goes, right?! haha!)

Determined Daisy

I’ve mentioned we got a little bit of rain on Sunday.

We still need more, but I’m giving proper respect to Mother Nature for doling it out over a period of time (after all, I did ask specifically that she not send a deluge/all-at-once scenario, right?!)

After that smidge of rain, I was walking around on the brown, dormant (NOT dead!) grass in the backyard and saw this very persistent daisy growing in a sea of brown-ness ~ determined to show its beauty.

Plus, you all know by now that daisies make me happy anyway…

so this is simply icing!

Focus on the GOOD

Focus on the GOOD

I took it as yet another reminder to me to be aware, to see, and to appreciate the beauty that surrounds me.

Well played, Mother Nature.

Well played.

Gratitude Sunday #5

We’re getting rain. Much needed. Falling softly.

raindrops on the clover! (look for the heart leaves!)

raindrops on the clover!
(on a side note, look for the heart-shaped leaves!)

Enjoy your Sunday.

Saturday Signboard #12

I’m still trying to convince Mother Nature that we need a nice, soaking rain.

The key is to make sure she understands that a nice rain for the better part of a day (like, tomorrow then maybe again next week) would be perfect… but to not over-do it and give us too much all at once.

So far she’s being a bit stubborn…

But I’m persistent!
